The CCYSA summer soccer program is a recreational, youth, outdoor soccer program intended to introduce and instruct young players on the fundamentals of soccer and strategies of team play in an encouraging atmosphere.
Practices begin early July with 4 home & 4 away games played from July 22 to Aug. 16. Games will typically be on Monday and Wednesday nights (boys) or Tuesday and Thursday nights (girls). Fridays and Saturdays will be used occasionally for make-up games.
Games will be played at various locations in Cortland County. Field information.
Information such as rosters, schedules, and field locations will be posted on the CCYSA website at: www.CCYSAsoccer.org.
You can register online. Registration forms may be downloaded from the website.
We need a lot of volunteers to implement improvements in planning and organization of our growing program. Please contact Peter Rogati at SummerPrograms@CCYSAsoccer.org if you are interested in helping in any way. We also have regular summer league planning meetings – please join us!
Summer Competitive Youth Soccer Program
The Scholastic League is a coach-led, competitive league for teams from Cortland County and surrounding areas. The goal is to promote more touches on the ball throughout the summer months in preparation for the fall school leagues. Coaches have the responsibility to form teams, recruit and maintain contact with players, provide uniforms and equipment, determine practice times and locations, and lead a team of players with the focus on skill development.
U15 League - Girls (birthday between 9/1/2003 to 8/31/2006)
U17 League - Girls (birthday between 9/1/2001 to 8/31/2003)
U15 League - Boys (birthday between 9/1/2003 to 8/31/2006)
U18 League - Boys (birthday between 9/1/2000 to 8/31/2003)
Since this will be a coach-led team, ask around your school to see if any teams are forming and talk directly with the coaches. If you cannot find a team, please visit us at www.CCYSAsoccer.org and fill out the “Scholastic Interest Form”. We will collect your information and the Scholastic Director will talk with coaches to help you find a team.
Coaches must complete their team roster and submit it via email to the Scholastic Director. Players will be checked with the roster at the beginning of each game by the referee. Only players on the official roster will be able to play.
Team Roster Form (Submit the Excel File)
Practices will typically start in June with the days, times and locations established by the coach. The game schedule will be developed based on the number of teams entered into each league division. In the event that there are not enough teams to form a division, the Scholastic Director will work with the coaches to make adjustments. Each team will have 8 scheduled games for the season. Games are played 11v11 (including the goalie) on a Varsity-sized field measuring approximately 70' x 100' with 8’x24’ goals.
Fri, May 31, 2019 - Team rosters and payment deadline to participate
Sat, June 8, 2019 - Draft Game Schedule published for coach review
To Be Determined - Coach’s meeting, location TBD
Mon, June 24 - First week of games (typically 2 games per week)

Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Can a younger player play at a higher division? - Younger players are eligible to play at a higher age group (e.g. 14 year old playing on a U18 team) as long as the player is mature enough to compete at that level safely
2. Can a player play on 2 different teams? - Players may be rostered and play on a maximum of 2 teams.

The Cortland County Youth Soccer Association (CCYSA) is run entirely by volunteers who want to see soccer programs offered to the youth of our communities to build not only soccer skills, but character, team work, respect, and other traits that will serve them well in life.
We are in need of volunteers like you! Many volunteers have soccer experience and play a great role in coaching, training and other on-field positions. Other volunteers don't have the soccer experience, but use their organizational, planning, communication or other skills to work off-field in administrative and supportive roles.
Please contact us today about how you can help! Rich Wagner, info@CCYSAsoccer.org.
Field Assistant needed!
This role is to help line our outdoor fields at multiple sites so that teams can play.
Contact Steve Waligurski, Director of Fields & Equipment, firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The mission of the CCYSA is to promote, teach and facilitate recreational and competitive youth soccer in our community. Through good sportsmanship, fair play, responsibility and respect, CCYSA will strive to offer soccer opportunities to all those that wish to participate.
